

Chinese violist Si Yu received her Bachelor of Music degree from China’s Central Conservatory and Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University where she was admitted as a full scholarship student under the mentorship of Mr. David Harding.
During her time at Carnegie Mellon, Si was a member of the Matisse String Quartet who won the Pittsburgh Concert Society major audition and was invited to perform for the royal family of Qatar in Doha. As a chamber musician, She has had the privilege to study with members of Alban Berg, Tokyo, Brentano and Juilliard String Quartet.
Ms. Yu has performed as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She has made appearances at the Pacific Music Festival, Banff Centre, Beethoven Institute, Heifetz Institute and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
